Diagnosed when I was 19, currently am 20. make a short story short. This took my life, but am slowly working things out.

Got so ill to the point where I used the bathroom 30 times a day. Got so ill that
I could not walk anymore from the arthritis joint pain. Under both of my feet got inflamed as a ball. This all happened during my first year in college. It was at its worst during finals week!!. I eventually got so ill that I thought I was gonna die. I was spiking 103 fever. The ambulance took me to the hospital, but I was released because the doctor told me "i just have a cold and stomach virus". A few hours later my mother called the ambulance again because not only could I not move but I was shivering uncontrollably in a extremely hot room, I also was not able to speak. I was still spiking fevers and no medication was relieving the fever..... I had blood transfusions and was unconscious for 2 day. When I came back to conscious I did the colonoscopy. My G.I told me that my colon was so inflamed that he never seen this before(his been a G.I for 30 years). When I told my fiance about what happened to me, she dumped me in the hospital

For the first 5 months I was battling depression and of course the disease. but things are turning around. I am back in college, I know what foods i can and can not eat. And I have been symptom free for the past 3 months,

Keep in mind I am ex high school football player. I use to weigh 230 pounds, but from the disease I weigh 170 now. I LOST 60 Pounds. people who dont know about my disease thinks I do crack, but I dont care as long as im happy

thanks for listening;
Joey

They tried Humira first!? Did you have a bad reaction to it?

I was on both at the same time... worst feeling of my life. my body was getting a terrible warm tingle through out my whole body.. I hated the humira because I was scared from the side effects (being possible death god forbid).

Hi Joey and welcome! I am so happy you are feeling better lately and found what works for you. And I am glad you don't worry what others think; you are absolutely right - if you are happy, who cares. But I am sure you'll put some weight back on now that you are doing better. I hope you continue to feel well for years and years!
