Hi i am new and recently was placed on entocort for my symptoms that i have been having. I am currently unemployed and uninsured :( but entocort seems to be working for me. The problem is the first month was free with a trial from my doctor but now i learned that it costs some $900 a month.

I was wondering if anybody knows of any way to get it cheaper or some help net or program. I have tried all the ones offered by astrazeneca but no help is available.

ps.
sorry for the screw up in the title.

Gosh they charge a LOT for meds over there (assuming you are in USA?) !

In NZ entocort is not government funded but even if I decided to take it I think I could get it for maybe $150 a month which is about $75 USD. SOMEONE is making too much money!!!

I hope you find a solution!

I want to do remicade, but I'm in the same boat as Jace. It costs about $8000 ever 4-6 weeks.

my 90 pills I picked up yesterday that cost me $29 had a cash price of $1187.99. it is by far the most expensive med i am taking and i cannot fathom paying for it without insurance.

go shop around at different pharmacies (my price was from walgreens.... stay away if you do not have insurance) see what costco and wal-mart charge, talk to your doctor about your other options and spend your free time searching the web for any program that might assist you in paying. if you find out you just cannot pay for it, then maybe you will settle for something that will help with the symptoms but may not be as pleasant to take? then maybe once you are feeling atleast a little better you can get things in order and get some insurance.

good luck..... it is a crappy situation to be in but im confident you will find a way if you truly wish to get better. the worst part is trying to make a decision like this when you are sick... it's like you cannot win!

What med?

Whew good god guys move to Canada here I'm very sure those meds are covered atleast in part here :p I'm lucky as of right now I'm under parent's medical still.....covers 100% of pills per month. (get one precription free per month regardless of price per person...no maximum amount) So for another 2 years I've got free prescriptions thank god....After that I hope my University's medical plan covers these darned pills or all my scholarship money is going to pills instead :p Still with that being said Imuran is only about $50-100 a month (can't remember how much the 4 pills a night costs now) but uni isn't exactly a great source of income either. I really feel for you guys paying that much for meds thats absolutely rediculous and I hope you guys can find some aid. Also ask your GI for any advice they might give. A family friend of mine was just diagnosed and his doctor helped him finding him some funding for pills. Wish you guys the best of luck and have a great holiday!
