For the past few days I've been feeling different than the "normal" (haha) gut stuff. I have a stricture in small bowel and now instead of multiple bathroom D trips it's changed to maybe 1 or2 D a day and sometimes it feels likeC but as soon as that's taken care of its followed by D again.i feel "pinched" in LRQ and a LOT OF PRESSURE below right rib cage. Also back is sore on right side and nausea after eating but no vomiting.
None of this is normal for me.
Any thoughts? I feel like I'm going nuts! Not in terrible pain but very very uncomfortable

Sounds like the stricture may have narrowed more- not enough for a blockage, but enough that you are now having symptoms related to it. Are you eating a low residue diet? If not, maybe you ought to for a few days ( if you're already doing low res, maybe go liquid?) and don't forget to keep your doctor informed!

That's what I've been thinking. I'm doing low residue but really have no appetite so I'm drinking a lot of Ensure! Thanks for your thought!

Hi 4peace,

I've got the same thing going on at the moment from a stricture so I would definitely suggest sticking to liquids for the moment.

Do you have any scans/appointments coming up to decide what to do? x

Had an MRe the other day and have an appt with GI on Wednesday to follow up. My sticture is at anastomosis site. I'm wondering if surgery will be required. I'm assuming it's pretty narrow sine he used a pediatric scope and couldn't get into small intestine? I woke up 3 times during it in excruciating pain. That didn't happen in my previous scopes. Yikes! I'm just a tad worried that I'll end up with a blockage??

Stick to liquids (at least till your GI appointment) and you're very unlikely to block! Since a blockage happens either because it gets so inflamed it closes, or because food is stuck. Liquids are less likely to irritate your intestine, and there's no food to get stuck.
