Hi all I had a colonoscopy Thursday. Before the test I had been dealing with the big c which is very unusual for me. I usually go 10 times a day. Anyway my question is this. Ever since the test, I used moviprep for clean out. Every time I need to poo I get crippling intestinal cramps and spasms. I'm not having d but it is kinda pale and clay textured. The cramps are wide spread and really painful. Is this from the test or should I be concerned?

I've done the movie prep and not had any ill effects from it. My poop is clay colored sometimes and I have incredible far in it which I think is malabsorption. Do you use probiotics?this may help as my thinking is that when they do a colonoscopy after that huge prep, it washes all the good bacteria out ad can cause diarrhea, cramping, bloating, and pain.
Having said that, maybe you should at least let the gi docktr know what's going on. At the very least it sounds like your gut is really irritated from slack of that.
What did your scope show?

I have a perianal skin tag "sticky". And that I have decreased vascular pattern of the descending colon??? No clue what that is. I have not got the results of my biopsies yet. But he did say my ti appeared normal. I do know that I have a antibiotic resistant e. coli infection in my urine, on med # 6 and it's still there. Also on wednesday I was told my uterus is enlarged and I have 2 marble sized fibroids. Dr said I need a hysterectomy but scared I'm to sick to handle the surgery.

Oh yeah forgot to add I am not on probiotic but am eatting yogurt since I already have thrust in my mouth from yeast.

New development now I'm having back to back liquid stools. Could it be a blockage? No vomiting but nausea is pretty bad.

Again, can you call the docktr who did the scope?it sounds like your symptoms are out of control for you!hoping you feel better

My GI do not have a weekend on call and I know if I call the nurse line there just gonna tell me to go to the Er. I do know I have a illeus. I am hoping it is a side effect of the flagyl they got me on. If it gets worse I will give I and go to Er. I just don't wanna go after my last experience I rather try and deal with it at home.

Extra cramping post colonoscopy is pretty typical... they inflate the colon with inert gas.. blow it up like a balloon.. so they can see more. Not all of it comes out immediately, AND it can cause gas, cramps, bloating... ALL kinds of nasty after effects. That is what they told me last Friday... and I had to sign a paper with all that info on it.. and say they told me about it.. BEFORE they would let me out. Crazy, isn't it. They tell me I can't drive, and that I need a responsible adult to take me home, and that I can't do anything involving any legal decisions, purchases, etc... for another 24 hours... BUT.. that I have to sign a legal release (sounds like a legal decision to me) before I can be released. Now, is that a Catch 22, or an oxymoron, or what?
