Hi I am new to this forum but I was hoping to get some advice. It all started last Saturday when I started having really bad diarrhea. By Monday I was having more than 10 diarrhea bowel movements and horrible abdominal pain and fever. Well now it is Thursday and it has not gotten any better and way worse has a fever of 103 yesterday morning horrible pain and spending most of my days in the bathroom swearing and yelling in pain as I go to the bathroom another time. By the way sorry for my rambling I am also very sleep deprived. Anyways I went to urgent care this morning and they checked my blood and white blood cell count was high and sodium levels were low. They then did a ct and said I have colitis and sent me immediately to the GI surgeon for a consult and said that he would be able to help me further also in urgent care they gave me toradol, fluids, nausea med, and some anti-diarrheal. Anyways I get to the Surgeons and of course he is leaving on Vacation tomorrow for the holiday weekend so he sent me home with nothing except a appointment for Tuesday morning for a colonoscopy. They also did stool tests and am awaiting results. I am having no pain relief and can't fathom spending the long weekend like this. Not sure what to do?

Welcome to the forum, gjen. I am sorry you having so much trouble right now. It can sometimes a bit to get through a consult, testing and results to treatment. If the pain becomes to much to bear then it might be a good idea to go to the ER(A&E) if you are from the UK. Explain to them your situation and the amount of pain you are in, they may give you something to help with the pain or fluids if you are becoming dehydrated.

I hope you find some answers soon and can get some relief.

Hello gjen
I feel your pain,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so sorry you are having such a bad time.
I would suggest you go to Emergency right now and let them know what is going on.
It might be better for you to be seen by a gastroenterologist since they have so much experience with IBD.
It could also be you have an infection going on.
At least you were given a rapid appointment for colonoscopy but it is too long to wait when you are in an acute stage.
Feel better soon.
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha

Try to find some marijuana....it's the only thing that saved me from emergency room visits between the beginning of my 1st flare and my diagnosis.
