So I finally saw a doctor from my gi's team today , he explained my gi is on 2 week leave so he is dealing with me .

He was absoloubtly amazing !!! I can't fault him at all, he said I've definitely got crohns and am currently in a flare , so he started me on steroids again but this time budesonide which apparently cause less side effects and get absorbed by the bowel.
I also have to have 1 injection a day to stop blood clots , and back on calcichew lol
I was told if the steroids don't kick in by the end of this week then i will have to have surgery to remove the stricture.
I'm pretty fine with it all , I think knowing exactly what's wrong , an how they're gonna treat u helps a great deal in making u feel more positive.

My cat had her kittens today !! I'm gutted I missed it lol she had 4 altogether
1 tabby
1 Ginger
1 black with a brown patch on it's head
1 pure White !!!!

I can't wait to c them !! I'm not allowed home yet but I'm gonna do some begging tommoz coz I'm fed up in here and now I'm being treated I'd rather manage it myself at home .
Hope every 1 is ok

Forgot to say my dose of budesonide is 9 mg taken as 3mg 3x a day .
Anyone else on this ?
Do u take it like me or just 1 dose in the morning?
Are the side effects the same as pred?
Can u sleep while on them etc ?

oh - glad to hear you finally got to see a 'good one'!

Even though you are itching to get out - don't push it!.....glad your cat is ok with the kittens - of course we will need to see PICTURES once you get home!!!

Excellent news Jen! Such a relief to know you have a plan and direction, YAY!

Awww I bet you can't wait to see the little one's. I hope you can get home soon to see them!

Lots a love,

I'm glad things seem to be looking up!

I'm on 9mg of Entocort as well. I just take all three in the morning. It definitely does not have pred-like side effects, though my sleep has been a little weird since I started it - I have such bad insomnia lately that I've been taking Ambien, and I actually have woken up a few times in the middle of the night, which is bizarre as I'm normally dead to the world. Anyways, I didn't find the Entocort remotely effective last time (but I'm giving it another shot per my GI's request since I utterly refuse prednisone in a non-life-threatening situation) but I hope it works great for you - I know some people have AWESOME response to it!

Well I'm home from hospital now , I'm feeling loads better already !!!!
My mouth was really sore and inflamed an that has got so much better in just 2 days on steroids !

I'm still really really tired an I've still gotta go to my gp on mon for bloods to check my vitamin b12 levels , apparently the cracks on the side of my mouth are from a b12 deficiency as well as other symptoms I'm not sure on .

I was supposed to go on red but I told him last time I was on them i couldn't sleep very well an my bones ached soooo bad I could hardly walk somedays , so that's y I was given the budesonide as they said it absorbs in the bowel so causes less side effects .

I've been thinking alot about putting in for disability living allowance as I can't hold down a job and we are struggling on just 1 income.

Because I'm married do u know what other benefits I would b entitled to like incapacity benefit ?
Or would I have to b a single mum etc ?
Any advice would help me out so much .

Thanks Jen XX

I am married and get disability Living allowance. can i just say if you do try and claim it when you fill the forms in you have to answer the questions about your worst day. my nurse specialist filled mine in will me, it was she that persuaded me to claim it. I can tell you i was gob smacked that i got it but it has made a big difference to us
