How do you know the difference?

How do you know if you are having a flare up of Crohn's or if it is IBS? I was diagnosed 25 years ago with Crohn's Disease. Recently, I was diagnosed with IBS. More than a week ago, I had my first episode of losing control of my bowels. I have had more than one time when I had diarrhea in the last week or two. I am waiting for results from blood work and calprotectin.

It can be hard to tell. I would wait for the cal protein as that should tell you which it is.
