First and foremost i know this isnt a great title lol

I work full time, go to school full time, have crohns issues that requires many doctor visits all the.time and i take care of my uncles son since my uncle died.

I cant seem to manage all this. Im so stressed and so distracted. I never have time to read for class amongst other things. Crohns itself takes up so much of my life with the pain i go.through let alone working full time, goihg.to school full time and raising a kid that isnt mine

I also have parents that do not underdtand what i go thru. They are depending on me, the first college student ever in my family to make it big and pull them out of poverty

How do you guys manage to handle and cope with things that are suppose to be normal?

I think your schedule would be too much for most healthy people.

Imo, it could be reasonable to work full time OR go to school full time, while trying to raise a child and battle a disease, but definitely not both.

My (healthy) husband was forced to do both when our older son was an infant and he woud go days without seeing him...he was either at school, at work, sleeping, or he was studying. He really had no time to parent.

Amaze, so sorry to hear of all you have on your plate! It is highly commendable that you are willing to step in for your Uncle's son and are trying to carry the weight of parenting, job and school.

How are you treating your Crohn's Disease? Is it possible that the treatment you are using isn't fully taking care of any active inflammation you may have? Have you had any testing lately to determine the level of active disease you are having? I think that would be where I would start.

I can only assume that full-time work is required for stability so maybe lowering your semester loads and spreading them out over a longer period of time could alleviate some stress. Although I know that can be a problem if you are getting some type of financial assistance for tuition.

My non-IBD daughter has taken on quite the load this semester with two jobs and a full time schedule. I worry that she may have bitten off more than she can chew but it was what she chose and so I am being supportive of her decision.

I hope you are able to find some relief with your CD symptoms soon as I am sure that will make your load easier to bear. Hugs and support!

Is the child receiving benefits? I ask because when my husband was laid off in the mid 90's, we would have been eligible, but we didn't think to apply. :(

hi amaze...many people with crohns suffer in silence....it is one of the 'invisible' diseases....i would strongly encourage your parents to read up on how debilitating crohns can be, so you have the sympathy and love you need.

i read somewhere that crohns is harder to live with that type one diabetes, or rhumatoid arthritis......physically it is comparable to having a limb amputated....but no one in society actually knows what we go through.

personally i do think crohns is as bad as the others, especially if you have it badly....but i dont lean on it and think 'poor me'....but i do have a support network of people who read up and know about crohns, they care and love me.....and I take time off when i need to....could never work like you work, simply dont have the energy.

good luck
