How long before I look anything like myself again?

I have been on Prednisone for almost 8weeks now for inflammation following an emergency bowel resection after an unexpected rupture. Started on 40mg and dropped 5mg a week and am now on 5mg. Anyway, I know it should be the least of my worries but I'm starting to feel really down about my appearance to the pointt I'm struggling to make eye contact with even my nearest and dearest. I've put on over a stone and my face is so puffy tht I dont even look anything like myself. I've been trying to cheer myself up with getting my hair cut and nails and tan done etc but no amount of make up can hide my puffy cheeks. Im just wondering howlong roughly after stopping it I can expect my face to start to go down??

There isn't an exact time table. It feels like forever but in reality probably back to normal in a few weeks. I haven't been on pred for a while but I know your feeling. It probably took me around 2 months to get back to normal.

I went through pretty much the same thing in 2007 I gained a lot of weight due to the pred but once I finished it the weight came off pretty fast so I wouldn't worry about it as long as your crohns is under control that's the main thing
