How long does Entocort work for Crohn's Disease

I have JUST finished my encort, and am feeling (touch wood), semi-ok (as long as I stay away from the usual offenders)! I can even walk my 40 mins walk to work and have not been popping into the loos on the way, and have done for a few weeks now!

I was just wondering how long people have found their symptoms to have stayed away for?

Not sure if that sentence makes sense. I just would love a couple of months semi-normal.... (am still quite worried about Scotland and festival)...

Hey Katie, that's a kind of 'how long is a piece of string' kind of question I've had spells where I've come off entocort, and been fine for weeks/months, and others where I've had symptoms within 10 days of stopping - not very helpful I know! Have you got the option to restart entocort if you feel things creeping up again? My GP leaves it on my repeat script, he's happy for me to have one month if I feel I need it but won't give me more than that without seeing me iyswim? It's just better than me struggling along waiting for an appt when I know what I need.
Fingers crossed for your festival - it's so hard to make plans ahead of times with CD, I really hope you get to go!

ooh errr, well I have my 'can't wait card'... and will maybe try and use the special loos for people with 'orange wrist bands' (not sure who gets them, other than magic people)... Also our camper has a loo... and as is a small festival, I think I can run to it if need be... I hope!

Hmm with the entocort (I spelt the wrong at first.. sorry), it was my first ever try and I am awaiting the gastro people at the hosp to get in touch, but I think I may bug them tomorrow, and see if I am on the list yet.

Otherwise my GP is brilliant, and I know she will annoy all the consultants if I need to, so I shall see her if I need some more sooooon!

It's been hmmm about a week now.... so here's hoping....

I had to take entocort last year when i was pregnant. I was on it for 10 wks. I was probably off of it for 8-10 months before going back on. I am on it again now. Tried to stop by symptons came right back. I am sure mine is a little different becuase of the pregnancy.

Hi Katie! I was on Entocort about almost 4 months when my Dr took me off of it. For the 1st 3 weeks I was fine, but then my period came, & the symptoms came back & have not left. (This was back in June)

All meds are different for everyone. If your symptoms come back, which I hope they do not, call your GI & see what he/she can do for you.
