When i was in the hopital, in the process of being diagnosed, the nurse came in an told me i was going to get an endoscopy, and a colonoscopy, now im not the smartest guy so i asked what the heck they were, she said well your going to get a camera down your throat and a camera up your butt to take a look at your insides from each end. Without skipping a beat i said " i hope you do the throat one first"

Ok so now that ive got the story out of the way i have a question, ill give you some background info first. The short version.

I was diagnosed back i june, lost alot of weight, and am just now getting back to the point where i think i might go back to work, But i have soem issues, i will be asking my GI about these but i dont see him until the 30th. I currently take 75mg of imuran everyday and get remicade every 8 weeks.

They are as follows, am i ever going to have a solid stool again ? or should i jsut get used to this. Weight gain, ive gained back 66% of the weight i lost but i still feel weak, and i actually have a gut now, i havent put the weight back on in the right places, none of my pants fit anymore yet im still tired all the time. I just got off prednisone at the start of october, and now the start of november i notice that im starting to wipe blood after a bowel movement, what does this mean ? should i be calling my doc sooner because of this? i thought i saw blood 2 days ago but then yesterday was nothing so i thought maybe i was imagining things or the lighting wasnt any good, but today i know i saw blood on the tissue, couldnt tell if there was any in the toilet as i havent had a solid stool in months.

The reason why you've put on a gut, is because its easier to gain fat then muscle...your taking in large amounts of calories most likely, which are all bombarding your system with no excercise I assume.

They dont use the same scope! lol. And the endoscopy scope is smaller. The colonoscopy only goes to a few inches in your terminal illieum, and the endoscopy only goes down a inch or so the other way from your small bowel.

You can always get an M2A studay, pill capsule camera, and when they cant see anything or the tests come back negative or normal, the M2A showed deep ulcers and lacerations, its something to think about.

You might want to bring it up to your GI that there is blood in the stool again, I think they can up your does of imuran, I know people take more then 75mg, I've never tried it because my geno-type showed them I cant tolerate it, I'm allergic, just like 6mp, I found that out the hardway.

Hi! I take Imuran also with the Remicade, i've been as high at 300mg per day of Imuran. Purhaps your doc will increase it. Even with the Remicade I have to watch what I eat. Every day is different, some days kinda solid others not so much.
Try not to panic, stress is very hard on us crohnies, talk to your doctor.

I found that when I had active Crohn's Disease that no matter what my symptoms were, I always seemed to have a bloated stomach. This would range from a normal bloating to feeling like my belly was going to explode feeling. My pants began to fit quite snuggly (or not at all sometimes).

After surgery this problem went away. I do not know if it is possible that my stomach was bloated due to the inflammation in my small intestine. Either way I would not worry too much and just realize that a bit of a tummy is well worth having instead of many of the worst symptoms that are possible.

I had a resection and have had D since. But this is mainly because of the resection, I think.
Blood in stool is always something to have checked out. It may be a fissure or something more.
And the fatigue may be from anemia (I'm in that boat)
I think I'd just give the dr a call and see if you could possibly come in sooner. Just listen to your body, If it doesn't feel "right" then it's probably not.

Good Luck to ya
