hi- i just wondered how many other people have asperger's or an ASD here?

one of the CR surgeons i saw told me that 40% of her patients were diagnosed with it, which seemed pretty high, since its hugely under diagnosed..

digestive disorders go hand in hand with autism.

i have asperger's and it makes following a decent diet really hard. sometimes it just stresses me out to make a sandwich (too much choice, and i cant predict the outcome of the taste, the kitchen is small and cramped; it just feels like there are 500 things happening simultantiously... i just shutdown), so i end up eating a block of cheese rather than using it properly in meals... then all the veg goes off when i cant cook for a few days... it makes crohn's even more expensive and dificult...

how do you cope? what have you noticed your ASD effects in your IBD??

(btw if youre not sure if you have an ASD- google Aspie Quiz- its the best one )

I am not officially diagnosed with Asperger's. My counsellor at uni said it was very likely I have it (but wasn't qualified to make the diagnosis). As well as the Aspie quiz I have just done (which said I am very likely an Aspie), I remember taking the Autism Quotient test at uni, again I scored highly.

However, I have not noticed that it makes life with an IBD easier or harder. If I am tired, or my guts are hurting, I do tend to behave more Aspie. But I can't think of any ways that Asperger's affects my Crohn's.
