I got one from my naturopath and it seemed to have made quite a difference. he's in another city so it's hard for me to ask him.

What's the frequency for this type of thing?

I get one every 8 weeks (at remicade infusion)- it would be every 4, but it is a pain stopping at the doctors and making sure they have it!

I have mine done once a month. It depends on your B12 level that decides how often you have it done.

"Frequency
To treat a vitamin B12 deficiency caused by pernicious anemia or other malabsorption condition, the frequency of your B12 injection will vary depending on your B12 levels. Typically, 1,000 μg is given daily for five days, and then 1,000 mg is given weekly for four weeks, reports Oregon Health and Science University. Your physician may require maintenance injections of 1,000 μg between one and three months." http://www.livestrong.com/article/277462-vitamin-b12-shot-dosage/

Following Sarah's Right Hemicolectomy she has B12 injections every 3 months, plus Folic Acid tablets 3 times a week. Like Crabby said, it very much depends on your blood levels.

My son has just had the same surgery as Sarah, less bowel removed though, and we are only monitoring his levels at this point.

I do my B12 shots at home. My Neurologist had me on them every week for a couple months, then to every two weeks.

I will admit that I feel a little better on them, but the neuropathy has not become any better.
