I had surgery a 2 months ago and had part of small intestine and part of large intestine removed. A couple weeks ago I started Humira again. How soon did you all start to feel better after surgery? How long did it take to go into remission after surgery?

I had laproscopic surgery first time and the Ileum only. Humira wasnt though of then , I was on Entocort (newest drug at the time) and had complete recovery in about 7 weeks or so, and I had a 3 year old. I had 7 good years, but didnt avoid stress and smoked backed then, stupid... but everyone is different, hang in there, don't rush it ,takes time for the bowels to wake up. I was also on Questran too for about a year. Same for my second one. :hang:

I am still waiting. I had surgery back in May, and I don't think it helped anything. Everyone is different, and I've heard a lot of good things about surgery!

Last summer i had a resection done due to scar tissue from a previous recection and inflammation. Mess. could no prevent blockage which was extremely painful and so that pain was immediatly gone. It took a few months til things found a rhythm again, but i haven't had any significant crohns pain since. Hang in there. Good luck!

2-3 month for surgery pains to be completely gone. Surgery pain was nothing compared to Crohn's pain though. I had the same surgery as you too.

Reply to surgery

Most patients feel better after 2 to 3 months. My nephew was better after about 6 month because he had complications after the surgery. It is all very individual.
