How Tall Are you?

5'8. I guess I'm happy in some ways that my Crohn's developed after I stopped growing, because I've been severely undernourished since my diagnosis. It pains me to see those affected by crohns as children and teen years that have stunted growth.

5'4 and a half (it's the half that counts ).
Most of my family are this hightish (even my brother poor Johny half - pipe).

I dunno. My sister and I were diagnosed the same year and are only 17 months apart (I was 9 and she was 11). She's 5'10-11", the tallest out of the 4 of us (my siblings and I). Seems like her growth wasn't stunted unless she's supposed to be over 6'. :p

If I would not have smoked and had Crohn's I would have been about seven feet tall.

Good thing my growth was stunted.

I'm 5'8" (average/tall for a female) and I'm also the shortest one in my family. My brother is 6'6"! My parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc are all taller than I am. And I'm the only one in the family with IBD - the only other family member I know of was my great-grandfather, who had UC, and he died in the 1950s so I'm the only living one with IBD. So, I suspect I might have slightly stunted growth - IBD didn't hit me full-force until I was an adult, but I've always had a "sensitive stomach" so maybe there was some latent stuff going on that affected my growth a bit. Don't know though, just a theory. Maybe it's just coincidence that I'm the shortest and I'm the only one with IBD? I really don't know.

I'm 6' 3" (yeah, I know... you've never seen bullshit stacked that high before)... My oldest is a couple of inches taller than I am now... at least he stopped growing before reaching the height of one of our ancestors (7' 9").

Everyone knows the grass is always greener on the other side, right? Try walking full tilt into a low branch overhanging a sidewalk on a dark street... or the low beam on a ships bulkhead door... or working in a mine when the headroom is only 5' 6". Not FUN!

Washing dishes in a standard height kitchen sink KILLS my back... as does slow dancing with a lady under 5' 2" (although I've dated women who were shorter than that). Seems they have a penchant for tall men... despite the fact that as a couple, we'd present a Mutt N Jeff scenario (that reference will be totally lost on the majority of you).
Clothes cost more... there is less variety... I went to purchase a new car... one of the models I had my eye on... I simply couldn't fit in the car. OK, I've rambled long enough.

5'3 and 3/4" about the average for the females in my family. Mom and daughter both 5'3" even that's why I count 3/4 I can brag about being the tallest. lol

6'5" here, so I don't run in to too many people taller than me. Luckily I've learnt to be aware of my surroundings, especially low clearances, which was particularly useful in Japan recently!

I'm pretty much the tallest in my extended family, but there are a lot of 6 ft men spread across most branches of my family, and my mother is 5'10", so I'm not that much taller really.

But agreed Kev, finding a good car is a pain, though my 6'3" uncle still loves his minis all the same :)

5'4" back up to 95 lbs.....wooohoooo. Both my parents were runts of their families, all my cousins, aunts n uncles over 6'. My hubby is 6'3"; thus, my teenagers are 5'10 n 5'6" with my youngest gaining on me fast!!

Wow, think I'm the smallest!

4ft 7 or 8 and im 33! Family of various heights, some average height and one nearly 6ft!

I must get the rubbish genes of the family! (except my looks of course  ha ha)

Had to laugh at your time in Japan. I lived there for 3 years. When I would dress up to go out, in heels of course, my kids started calling me "Momzilla" :rof:

Okinawans would actually stop me on the street to take a picture with me.

Im 5' 6" and a half but i always round up to 5'7" ;-). My Crohn's skipped my growing years and After my Nissen at age 19 a grew an inch.

Around 5'9. And I don't know if I would be taller if I had not gotten crohns at age 12, but I am happy with my height.

I'm 6', and am recently well enough to gain 55 lbs in one year. I passed "ideal" on the charts two months ago, but I have not passed a store that sells pants. :ack:

My Daughter is 5"1 the doctor said she should have probably been my height 5"4 so she lost about 3 inches due to crohns.

Bunch of short people you'll are!! LOL! 6' 10". Yea the air is thin up here!!

Hi Mary! I seem to be following you! Are we the only ones on tonight? I used to be 5'8. Now 5'7, shrunk from back surgery!!!:ytongue:
