It is my son's last week at middle school. He is in full "moonface" thanks to prednisone. Some of his peers are asking him why his face is so puffy. He and I thought it would be fun to brainstorm fun retorts to these kids. We didn't get very far:
"I had marshmellows for lunch"
"I must have slept face down"

So what say you, oh wise "Parents of Kids with IBD", what are some funny responses to nosy people's questions.

I guess a Godfather impression would go over their heads ;)

My son told some boys, "I got hit in the face with a basketball"... Most of the teachers would say, "Brian has really gained some weight, that's good to see". We would just nod!

Yeah, my parents just came for a visit and kept commenting on his weight gain because of his puffy cheeks. I just nod too.

Yep DS got lots on " look how much he has gained and grown over the summer ..."
DS didn't grow at all ... He would just look at me .
So I explain all adults say that to all kids in sept regardless since for most it is true .

Otherwise I am no help since he weaned in August and lost most of it by end of September .

How is your son feeling now? I don't think I've seen an update, and I hope he doing well on his medication regime and new diet.
