How to get stool for fecal calprotectin

I have an order, a hat, a specimen cup, two little flat sticks and a baggy for my daughter's fecal calprotectin test. How much stool do we need to get and does anyone have any tips for getting it?

The hat seems like a fairly easy set up. With Devynn I was told to let her pee, and then put plastic wrap on the toilet. I tried to make sure there was enough in there, so that the bottle was as close to being full as it could be. Good luck!

As others have said, it is important not to let any pee get mixed in.
I actually only ever put a bit in my jar , mine come with a lid that has a built in mini shovel which I use to hook out a bit that's about as big as my thumb nail.

My daughters never had a fecal calprotectin test done but for a stool sample we've always collected a little bit and its always been enough.....Good luck.

I looked it up online and the Mayo Website said 10 grams. Uh, how much is 10 grams? My container only has ml! My husband ended up getting the sample and said it filled the container "not quite half". He called me at work and left a voicemail after he did it. He was really disgusted. It was really funny. I wish you call could have heard him describe it! It wasn't a formed stool!
