Humira Remicade or non?

Humira Remicade (my GI) or somthing else/nothing (my primary doctor) for "not a full fistula"/fissure

Did anyone have a fissure and not get Remicade or Humira? if yes did you have anything else?

Well, a fissure wouldn't require biologics. Fissures usually heal up on their own. You might want some pain relieving cream, such as lidocaine jelly or even Preparation H Maximum Strength with pramoxine Hcl.

i have a nasty fissure and am going to start biologics next week. im very worried, any advice???? i was diagnosed less than a week ago and its pretty severe.

Fissure2--I just read some of your other posts. Your fissure sounds bad. If it were just a simple fissure, biologics wouldn't be needed, but since you had a bad report from your sigmoidoscopy, your doctor must see that you need strong meds to help more than just your fissure. Don't panic. All of this is new to you, but there are many folks on this forum that can relate to what you are going through and can help you through this.

yeah from the biopsy he found severe chronic inflammation in the large intestine. i hate needles really. thanks for your support. its hard being new and living alone. (diagnosed with crohns on monday, fissure in may. had some minor crohns symptoms since march. all hell broke loose with the first dose of laxatives.)
