My fiance was on remicade for about 4 years, and it worked wonders for him for about 3.5 years. Then it only lasted for about 3 weeks and it just became ineffective for him. So his doctor put him on Humira. Right before he started, he was having stomach cramps and diarrhea and blood in his stool. He got his first dose (4 shots) and within a day he was feeling better. The cramps went away, his stool became more formed, and the blood was almost gone. That lasted about two weeks. We gave him his second dose last Friday (the 2 shots), and since then he's been back to running to the bathroom with bloody stool and cramps. He's so frustrated because it seemed to be working, and suddenly it's back to square one. It's only been a little more than 3 weeks since he started Humira. Was the initial reaction a coincidence? Did he become immune to it already? Does anyone have any insight? He's seeing the doctor on Friday, but just looking for some answers here... thank you.

Even though he did show improvement right away, its still going to take a couple of injections before the Humira is in his system. Miss is right that they can do a blood test also. Dont discount Humira just yet :) I was on Remicade for around 2 years then developed drug-induced lupus so now I'm on Humira and everything is going well. Its sweet that he has such a caring person by his side, many are not so fortunate. Just having you be there for him to keep his mind and heart happy makes more of a difference than you could ever know. Good luck akai
