Hi all...Looking for some advice, particularly from mamas with crohns. I was diagnosed in 2006 and have been on and off various meds but have been reluctant to go on a biologic until I could get through my child rearing years. A recent colonoscopy shows I basically have no choice at this point and need to go on something ASAP. My choices are Humira and Remicade, though I think due to insurance it will end up being Humira to start. Those with experience or knowledge, can you comment on breastfeeding safety and Humira along with pregnancy and Humira? (I know that both are Category B drugs).. My daughter is 8 months old and I really really really don't want to wean her if at all possible. I also am not 100% sure we are done having kids, so don't want to close that door yet. Our oldest is 2.5. Anyway, please help!! I am feeling so discouraged after a convo with the doc that basically I should go on one of these and stop breastfeeding, along with re-think future pregnancies. Thank you, thank you!

Hi!
Congrats on two little ones!
I am on humira. I chose humira because I could inject it myself at home, I thought with having little ones at home it would be easier, and it is really easy. When I started humira my son was two an I had stopped nursing him already. But when I asked my dr about being pregnant again and being on humira, he didn't see a problem with this. Luckily with my son I could do it with no meds. I am not sure about nursing while on humira.
