Hey everyone i was diagnosed in july this year unfortunately i was put on azathioprine that didnt work, i am now suppose 2 b starting humira injections next week but really scared as i hv heared they r really painful, can anyone give me any feedback on it?

Don't worry about the pain. Yes they hurt... but it's not longer than the pain you get from smashing a cupboard door on a finger, you swear but then you are fine. Remember, its what, 10-15 second of sting, then you are good for two weeks. Nothing to extreme after all!

Yep, just a quick sting. I'll dmit that they do hurt and it take me about an hour to get myself to do it, but in the end its just 10 seconds! To most people the benefit greatly outweighs the cost. The only problem I personally have with Humira are those ten seconds, the rest is great. Remission is worth it!

Definately not as bad as Crohn's pain! I have to pause for a few minutes, too, before I hit the button. Then I say some loud words as it goes in, wait a few seconds, and Poof! it is all over!

i always psyche myself out beforehand and it ends up taking me 10 to 20 minutes of sitting there trying to convince myself to do it. once you do the shot, yes it stings pretty damn bad, and then it's over before you know it. when you get up to walk it may sting a little but that wont last. it seems to be really helpful with my crohn's symptoms and pain so the little amount of pain is well worth it for me.

I literally just feel a little sting for about 10 seconds and then it's done. It does not compare to the pain you have with Crohn's by a very long shot. You'll be fine helzbelz!

I have given myself the first 6 injections and have not found them to be bad at all. Just take a deep breath, inject and move along with your day knowing you may be one injection closer to remission!
