Hi

Just intrested to tell you all that my previous GI consulant now belives and has evidence that hypnotherapy can calm and reduce the pain and effects of crohns. I had a 13 week session of it on the NHS when the belived it was IBS.

Would anynone belive this or have tried hypnotherapy for help to releive some of the crohns issues.

Thanks for reading

So would warm baths have the same effect? Like if I sit there for 5 min and relax? This would be good if it reduces crohns symptoms. Through the day, I find I'm flaring, and pain is noticeable, but I'm on 40mg of prednisone, and by the afternoon, I think it settles the inflammation a bit. Then I still bloat with dinner a lot of the time, but it's the side effects of my candida that have me feeling dehydrated, and sometimes headache and a not well feeling. Other days, I feel great, even while having dinner, like yesterday I felt so bloated, tonight, I felt great, wanted to eat even after I had eaten dinner, almost like that hunger pang feeling, but not in pain, and happy in general.
So when I'm flaring, is it worth just easing it with warm water in the morning do you think? This would be great if it works that way. :)

There are claims that it works for things like stopping smoking/drinking, but those are habits.. Not sure if I believe it would work for something you can't really control. I'm definitely interested to see if it works for you though.

I heard about that too. It probably has some impact maybe indirectly and it probably takes awhile to work. But, I do agree, mind over matter...

reducing stress is important, but i'd be doing more than that (hey ,i am doing more than that)
Meditation is way cheaper, and giving up sugar and grain will make a huge difference
