I've never heard of getting blisters on your feet from Crohn's. I don't know if you are aware but Crohn's affects the digestive tract--mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines, rectum, anus. There is no cure.

Certain medications can can problems with your liver, pancreas, cause bleeding out or clotting. That is why you need to work very closely with your GI to have your blood tested regularly so if something is abnormal, it can be taken care of ASAP.

Go to the CCFA web site, it will give you the information you are looking for.

A podiatrist, one who is a foot doctor (I've been going to one since I was in high school , he has Crohn's himself & is AWESOME) is very well versed in diseases of the feet and can offer you more insight as well.

REMEMBER all doctors offices have UCC forms (government forms for those who have no insurance) call the billing office before you set up an appointment to get the paperwork filled out. That way there won't be any headaches when you seeing them.

Good luck. ~GW

Try attending a local support group meeting near you. You'd be surprised at how many others are out there with the same problem as yourself. They can recommend a good foot MD, heck, you may even meet another doctor who has Crohn's like my podiatrist for example who has CD. You will learn so much valuable stuff such as coping with people who aren't supportive, diet, latest treatments, the best hospitals in the area, which MDs to avoid, hear speakers such as dieticians, GI surgeons, etc. You may even make a new friend or two. Bring your husband. I brought mine while we were dating as he wanted to educate himself in case I got a blockage and was doubled over in pain. That came in handy months later...he actually saved my life. I had a full blown obstruction and he rushed me to the ER.

Anyway, knowledge is power. Check out CCFA. You can even attend a Take Steps Walk to raise awareness.

I used to get blisters on my feet but I don't recall why (never heard of Crohn's being the cause). I do know that every time I did get blisters I was wearing sandals at the time. Using Neosporin and band aids and putting on socks and shoes until it healed fully helped. Maybe you could do your feet a favor and wear socks and shoes instead for a while (fluffy new type socks not the old thin ones that fall down your ankle after three steps :p ). If you do wear socks and shoes and still get blisters then its time to see a podiatrist as suggested.
