so this all happen over a month ago wile I was at work with a dull pain in my gut and a pressure in my upper stomach. I went home from work and the following week it wasn't going away, was told to take prilosec and didn't do anything.

had 3 blood test done all which showed up to be fine. it got pretty bad where I went ot the ER but sometime during the ER I was feeling pretty normal since there was such a long wait. ultra sound showed nothing they sent me home pain came back the next day. saw 2 GI doctors one of which wasn't much help told me to stay on the prilosec the other one gave me some aciphex which seemed to help out a lot, but I still had something lingering with in me.

after a few days I had the endoscopy done which showed very very light inflammation and acid reflux biopsy's where clean, gave me carafate and told me to stay on aciphex. After I used up all the carafate and aciphex I still was feeling something wrong in my lower gut under the belly button which has always been there but I think the upper pain was more apparent. the CT scan showed nothing too when it was looked at upper to lower abdomen. the other GI doctor gave me something to slow my colon down since he thinks it could be spasms

I had the colonoscopy done about a week ago and when he showed me the pictures he said I most likely have crohns. since he found 3 uclers in the small intestine but the colon looked fine and the biopsy would tell.

that brings me to today when he told me I have acute Ileitis, which is super rare since he thought it would be crohns. the way he explained it was crohns is cronic and this is acute which is found in new tissue which he explained was good news but I'm not sure where to go from this point he didn't offer much advise other than asking if I was doing better which I am but not 100%

I just started teh SCD diet today expecting it to be crohns, but now I don't what....

Hiya scobaru
and welcome

It is my understanding that ileitis is Crohn's disease, aka enteritis, and terminal ileitis. Someone correct me if I'm wrong? Acute or chronic, dunno?
Anything that ends in itis usually means inflammation somewhere.
Crohn's is the name of the man who described it in the 30s.
If you have a read of the sections on here including diet and treatment; I'm sure you'll find some answers there. We also have an Undiagnosed Club too.
If this was me, I'd be seeking a second opinion to get it confirmed once and for all.
good luck

Welcome! I agree with Joan! I'm not sure what your GI meant by "new" tissue but I think acute means severe. Sometimes crohns is severe and sometimes not but it is always there. I hope you don't have it but if you do, it is definitely better to know for sure. Good luck!!

acute means breif and severe (came on suddenly hence why the doctor says new tissue, it isn't cronic making the tissue old)
ilitis is like Joan said...it's inflammation of your ilium.

I'm not sure what you should do but it doesn;t sound to bad I'm sure your doctor would have put you on something if it was bad. Start by a diet change and probiotics and possibly it'll begin to correct itself, go to the GI if any symptoms begin to worsen and definatly go back if you start seeing blood. It could be the beginning of crohns but can't be diagnosed until it has caused further damage. Also acute symptoms/diseases can turn into cronic so keep an eye on yourself

When I was first diagnosed with Crohn's, I seeked a second opinion. Even though all the fingers pointed towards it. Maybe it was me trying to run from the diagnosis, but I needed to make sure. Really needed to since it's such a commitment to make with all these treatments, diets, etc.
