Hi all,

I have Crohn's Disease

Well i went for my scopes today and have my results and there are so many words that i do not understand.

It says the distal ileum contained a benign appearing, intrinsic severe stenosis measuring 5mm inner diameter that was non traversed.
Stricture distal ileum compatible with Crohns Disease

What is Ile-ectomy, as that is what they are reccommended.

As you can understand my head is really spinning at the moment.

My GI wants to start me on Azathioprine, has anyone been on this med & what are the side effects ???

YAY for FINALLY having a diagnosis!! I reckon not knowing is sometimes the hardest part.. Now you can start treatment

Surgical removal of the ileum.

Azathioprine is Imuran.

It is saying that you have a very narrow part of your intestines, they are so scarred that in one place it measures only 5mm across. And so they would like to remove this part.
