Hello
I thought I'd give you an update...

I got my results from my colonoscopy I had a few months ago (NHS waiting times !). I have chronic inflammation and biopsies revealed they are consistent with Crohns, they also found some ulcers in my sigmoid colon and rectum. So ive finally been put on steroids (prednisolone) and hope they start working real soon :D It's not good news but for over 3 years they found nothing and now I finally have proof! If the steroids work they said they will officially diagnose it as Crohns
Quick question, how long should it take for the steroids to work?

Thank you! :D

Glad you are finally close to a diagnosis though. Steroids can work very quickly can start reducing symptoms within days and create markable change in a few short weeks. Good luck!

Hi Elle,

I was on steroids for the first time this year after a flare up and the pred started working within a couple of days!
I was amazed how quickly I began to feel better
Good luck and I hope it works well for you too

I can remember the day of my diagnosis like it was yesterday. Relief that it was finally identified, though still not knowing what it really meant. No internet to check up on way back then! Then, the effects of pred being felt the next day. It can work really quickly, and given you have been fighting this for so long, I imagine you are probably already feeling on top of the world (hopefully!).
