Has anyone thought to tell their GI specialist about this forum? You know, they have more patients with Crohn's who might like to join the message board. Wouldn't it be cool if somewhere, we could download and print on cardstock a sheet of little "business" cards for the forum? We could take a little pile in to our doctors and encourage them to hand them to their Crohn's patients (especially the new and scared ones)? I intend to let my GI doc. know about this forum when I next go in February. Let's all at least give the address to the doctor or print out little slips of paper they can hand out!

Me and Mike have talked about this, and I will be bringing it up at my next appt to the GI at the University in just about 2 weeks.

I make my own business cards and have made them for others. I'm sure I could design one, though it would need your input. Need short, catchy phrase(s) or a one-sentence description, maybe? And someone would have to tell me how to post a PDF so that you could each download & print your own. I'm a technophobe, but if you speak slowly and don't use big words, I could probably do that.

I'd like to be able to give something back to the community.

You could also do it in Word, on one of the templates that makes little business cards -- I do it for a couple of my home side businesses and for my husband's band. I usually just print it on white card stock and trim carefully. Even little quarter page flyers would work, that way the Dr.'s office staff could just photocopy more and cut to keep stock on hand. I plan to give some to my GP too for their patients that have Crohn's.

OK -- since it was my idea . . . I took a couple moments and designed a flyer. It's in word. It's one page and lists not only the address but the forum info. Once I get approval by Mike and the other moderators, I will put it out for everyone. Unless someone knows how to add it to be downloadable, I would be happy to just e-mail a copy to anyone who wants it. Print one or two out and take to the docs. They can photocopy it and hand out to their patients . . . Seems to be the easiest. Now, it's in word, but maybe skeet will convert it to pdf for me and I can send out in word or pdf format. Sound good? Moderators -- you are getting an e-mail for me with the draft -- please check it out and let me know of changes or approval.

Hee hee! Perhaps you haven't caught on! Skeet is pretty ignorant about things technical. I can save my own documents as PDFs, but not sure how to convert one. I think just save it to Word & select "pdf" in the "save as" window? <shrug> I'm a learn-as-I-go kinda gal!

I sent Mike a business card design. Like Cara, I'll be happy to email it to whoever wants it (upon Mike's approval, of course) if that would be easier than trying to do it as a downloadable file from the forum.
