I have pain in upper abdomen instantly after eating

I have had crohns for about 4 years with only one obstruction last year. However recently I have had a sharp stabbing pain in my upper abdomen instantly after I swallow food. It has caused me to lose a huge amount of weight and now I am in the hospital and no one can figure out what could be the cause of my pain. We have out ruled ulcers and gallbladder. Has anyone had a similar issue?

I'm sorry to hear...this must be very frustrating! Did you have surgery after your obstruction last year? I wonder if it could be related...?

So they did an EGD...what about ruling out Pancreatitis or Liver problems? Or Biliary tree obstruction?

Have they considered some sort of chronic mesenteric ischemia? You would usually get pain 15 min after eating however, not instantly.

Have they looked at your oesophagus?

I hope they can get to the bottom of this!!
