Ok,

I had a remicade appt this week and started Entocort this week.
For the past few weeks, prob 2, I get very nauseated and then feel
like i have to run to the bathroom every few min. Not the usual
11 out of 10 pain I usually get. Just different. I can eat just a little
bit at a time. i am trying to follow a liquid diet, not fun or easy!

I am wondering if it might not be a slight stricture?

Anyone with any experience??

Thank you,

lauren

I am sorry for what you are going through ,Lauren. Have you contacted your doctor? What are they saying?

Hi Lauren. Sorry you are feeling poorly hun. I suggest you contact your doc and let him/her know how your feeling. Hopefuly they may be able to get you back on track. Best wishes n hugs 💕

I had been on Remicade for a long while, ( can't tell you specifically how long because I'm not near my "files" at the moment ) but I am no longer on it, however I do recall it causing gas and frequent bathroom visits which often seem unnecessary due to the small amount. But what I wanted to mention is the stricture, I have the misfortune of having one about 30 cm in, apparently I've had it for a while, I think there may be a link between gas and bloating, my theory is that because it takes so long to pass stool it'll cause these unpleasant effects, I have a physician tell me to not eat fruits or vegetables while I was experiencing flares or urgent bathroom breaks, if I recall correctly it's because it can ad on to the scare tissue. It made a huge difference but then he said if I don't pass enough it could cause further issues so what I had done was completely eliminated fruits and vegetables until everything settled down then I slowly introduced a few here and there just so I was getting the benefits from them. In the meantime I eat mostly pasta and bread because any meat other than turkey or chicken doesn't sit well, but while on that I was sure to drink enough fluids to allow my stool to pass.
If you are trying a liquid diet I'd recommend boost, personally I hate the chocolate and strawberry kind but there is juice, wild berry, orange, peach those were good and very beneficial.

thank you MKW, I was on a 3 month leave from work and started to feel normal again, back to work and I feel like I am slipping. The only time I have been good is when I don't work.
I really am debating on full disability, the problem? I am not good at speaking up for myself.
I guess thats something I will have to work on! I am trying to remember if he said it was a 5mm or 5cm spot they found. Thanks a question to ask to ask I guess.

Lauren
