I went to the GI on Monday and reported new symptoms. One of my main complaints is that I have been getting regular abdominal pain (sometimes mild, sometimes intense) a few inches to the right of my belly button and up and down my left side of my belly button (mainly before I have a BM). Being that my "pain seems to move around", my GI isn't convinced the pain is because of my Crohn's and I may have IBS, as well as Crohn's. She prescribed Hyoscyamine (used for those with IBS) to see if it helps.

I will be having the pill cam and flex sig to investigate, but in the meantime, I have some questions:

1. Am I the only one who has pain that "moves around"? I wouldn't even consider my pain moving around, but more that I have pain in more than one area and it can hurt on the right side or left side at the same time or by itself.

2. Does anyone else take medication like Hyoscyamine that is used to treat IBS? Have you seen any improvements?

Thank you!

Hiya, my pain is and has always stayed in the same place around the belly button and just to the right and the pain is there all the time like a dull ache but when things flare up it is a sharp stabbing pain that i cant tolerate and i think makes me physcially sick, i have been put on ibs medication such as buscopan in the past and had no relief from it at all

Hi Jill - I don't have any advice, just wanted to say good luck and I hope you start to feel better soon!

I supposedly have IBS as well, my GI gave me Hyomax which did little to nothing to help with the cramping and pain. I had gone to her complaining of constant nausea, belly pain, bloating, etc. They did MR Enterography which showed some narrowing in my small intestine too, with active Crohn's. Her recommendations were that I really watch what I eat, no popcorn, no nuts unless chewed VERY well, low-fiber and small meals.

Thanks for the replies. I hope the IBS meds help with the pain, but I don't have high hopes. I kind of feel like I am getting the brush off. I think IBS is thrown around so easily. If you are in pain and discomfort and your doctor isn't sure what it is - it is IBS. It's just plain frustrating. I just want to feel better and achieve the thing called "remission" I hear so many wonderful things about.
