My 2 1/2 year old had his Ileostomy surgery on 9/24. He is still having a lot of bloody diapers and vomiting occationally. Our GI has said it can take 6 months for the colon to start healing. Does anyone have experience on how long it takes to see improvement.
I guess I was expecting quicker results thinking since no food is moving through the colon, there wouldn't really be irritation - guess I was wrong.
