Hi jjayne! Welcome to the forum family. I'm glad that you don't need an operation for your stricture. I hope that you and your dr are able to come up with a plan that works for you.

I hate prednisone, too. Some people have mentioned that Entocort is easier to take - as far as side affects go. Have you ever tried it?

Hi Jayne and welcome! I am sorry about the stricture. If you can avoid surgery, that would be ideal, even if you have to do a course of pred. However, I understand that taking pred is not ideal. As Jessi suggested, depending on where the inflammation is located, perhaps Entocort is an option. Entocort is a steroid, but it releases in the TI and ascending colon. So, being that it is so point specific, it doesn't have anywhere near the side effects as pred. However, if Entocort isn't an option, hopefully, your GI will have a better suggestion.

Good luck!

Hi Jayne,

I just wanted to say welcome. I hope whatever you choose it works well for you.
