Hi,

I'm new to this forum but living with Crohn's for +-9 yrs now. I've been diagnosed quite easily (thank goodness) looking at what many people go through just having to find the answer. I was rushed to hospital with severe abdominal pain :( and was immediatly rushed to theatre to have my appendix removed. Once cut open, dr saw no damage to my app and removed it anyway, but could clearly see severe inflammation in my gut. With this he ordered and immediate colonoscopy and that same day I was basically diagnosed with CD. I was 16 at the time with no clue about what the disease entailed, therefore not really concerned much :ybatty: If I only knew.
I've had some really good days over the past 9 yrs but also some really bad ones.
I'm currently 25, been married and divorced :( and have a beautiful baby boy Jodi age 20mnths (he was a preemie, born at 880g) my miracle.

Anyway, I've just been browsing the forum for a day now, but I already feel at home, I feel like I've finally found some ppl who can really relate to me....:)

Hi Tash:) Welcome to the board, I hope you are feeling ok at the moment. I had my appendix out when I was 15 so that was ruled out for me otherwise I am sure I would have been in the same boat as you!!

Caz x

Thanks for warm welcome.
I'm actually a bit under lately, not eating well.
I start a new treatment today called Humira, I'm excited and scared all at the same time.

Hi,

Once again thanks for the welcome. Yes Pen, divorce really hit me hard and really difficult to deal with but what can you do. My son however my biggest Joy and I think he is the one keeping me going. I really hope the Humira works for me. All the other things you guys talk about in terms of meds all sound new to me really. I suppose its because I'm in S.A and we kinda not always up to date with everything. All I want is to find something that works, something that can keep me going for at least more than 12mnths at a time.

Hi Natasha,
We had a premmie too (29weeks). he's 28 months now and amazing. It's funny, we call him our miracle too.

Enjoy the forum, most of the forumites don't bite, but who knows... by the sound of some, they want to be bitten!!!

Hello, I am new too. I hope your new treatment works for you and that you start feeling better soon!

hiya Natasha, and welcome to the forum :)

sorry you're not too good right now, but hopefully the new treatment will sort that out very soon for you.

i have to say i admire your obvious strength of character.. getting through a divorce, having a prem baby & being a single mum are challenges in themselves.. but doing it whilst battling with the ups and downs of Crohns is something else.

great to have you here - don't be a stranger! :)

Hi Natasha. Welcome!
I had great luck with Humira for a while, hope it works well for you. That little guy of yours must keep you busy!

Hey guys,

Once again thanks. You all sound really cool, I read your conversations daily though I dont always reply. I have learnt so much on this forum already its unbelievable.
Dont want to be forward, but here is my son's blog www.jodijameswepener.blogspot.com

Cheers
