Well first, my condition is worst then it has been. Meds aren't working and the stuff I'm trying to eat isn't either....:)
But two more weeks for the GI visit.

If someone had a really high rich diet would they still have problems? I'm guessing its unknown because everytime I read about Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis, its like a mystery game. Its different for everyone. I read how people don't take any medications but years later have problems.

It sucks it sucks it sucks lol
I'm trying to treat this Ulcerative Colitis like a videgame or mystery story and win it. I was all positive in the begining but now.......smh
Oh. I'm quiting my job today. Its to much for me to handle. Fast pace and I have to go to the bathroom to much.....so I'm just trying to get this bloody diarrhea under control that came back big time a week ago.
I'm glad I havent gotten to the point where I have to support myself because I would be in big trouble if I did.

I hate this double life. I miss peanut butter, chocolate, milk shakes and all that good stuff.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time Swirl. Sometimes it takes a while to get to the point of remission and feeling great again. I'm also sorry you are at the point of having to quit your job, but glad to hear you don't have to stress so much on whether you can survive without that job. Good luck with it all and keep your chin up!

Thank you. I hope I'm not one of those people where I find it hard to get this under control.

hi Swirl... so sorry to hear you need to stop working because of your health right now - i hope in time you get things under control and feel you can go back to work, even if it's part-time...

IBD is like a game sometimes, i agree - and the rules are pretty fuzzy and keep changing :(

food-wise, i'm not sure what kind of diet you're having right now, but i'd recommend a gentle one, like mashed potatoes, soft rice, soft pasta, etc.. sometimes it takes time for a change in our diet to actually have an effect we can see, even if it's the right diet for our intestines at that time. i hope you can calm this episode of diarrhea down, it's not nice - i know!

Hey Swirl,

I too wish better for you right now. If I could wave a magic wand for all of us I would have long ago!

Giving up work is a hard decision to make but it certainly sounds like you need some quality time to sort yourself out.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. We will always listen and ponder things with you.

Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear that you you're not feeling better yet bro. I can't believe that your GI put you on the weakest possible drugs and then just left you to rot for three months. It sounds like you have been terribly mistreated.

I will try different foods out to see if something triggers it or calms my stomach down while I'm at home now.

I went to GI clinic January but it was fast..... Sat down and spoke to a different doctor. Checked my blood pressure did a blood test. Before that I told her how I was doing then she said something and said its because you have colitis.

I don't like this hospital. Its in Queens NY. And its pretty simple...
So they set me up with the nearest date back to GI which is April 5th. On these meds which I have to take a bunch of. 17 pills a day in all.

Now when I call to say nothing has change and me bleeding a lot I get told to go to the ER. Its the only way I can get new meds to try and be seen since they can't set me up for the GI clinic any sooner because Its all filled up.

Before when I first took the colonoscophy back in May 2009, the doc who did it said it looks like Crohns but there were no sooner dates for GI until October!
So when I go in April I guess the next visit wil be in the Fall...

I hope I can find food that will fix this problem because I don't want to reply on a hospital twice a year for treatment.

I know that clinics can be busy and such, but if you have to make all your appts so far out while trying to get treatment, maybe you need to find another GI? I know they are busy, but that seems a little ridiculous to keep giving you appts so far apart. That won't help you get better at all, it will just keep setting you back. Good luck with it all, and I hope you improve soon.

Thanks, I will bring this up with my doctor when I go there. I haven't thought of it until now. I've been going there since I was born but I guess its time to find another place if I have to wait a long time again.
