Hi, my name is Shane, I'm a 36 year old single father of a beautiful 3 year old baby boy, and I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease 4 months ago. Since then I've gone through the hospital repeatedly, including a 3 day stay when the Prednisone they had me on caused my blood sugar levels to spike to 759 and they couldn't get it below 400 until they finally got me off the Prenisone. I've recently aquired financial assistance through friends and a medical program here called Access to Healthcare, and I qualified for Patient Assistance with the Cimzia injections I have to take every 2 weeks and the azathioprine I have to take every night. 6 weeks ago my job let me go, calling my Crohns disease a non-work related injury, and they couldn't keep m on light duty per the doctor's request. Welcome to the great state of Nevada, a will to work state, where you can be discharged without reason. I still carry a part time job that I've had for 6 years but doesn't pay much at all, and now my rent is 13 days past due, I just recieved a notice to either pay the $786 I owe or vacate the premises by noon next Friday, my car payment is a month past due, motorcycle payment is 21 days past due, and I recently had to apply for food stamps to get food...something I never thought I'd ever have to do, as I've worked ever since I was 17. I've been submitting applications and resumes everywhere I can but so far the economy isn't responding favorably right away. I searched google for programs that might be able to assist but couldn't find anything. I did however find this forum and thought maybe SOMEONE would know a program that might be able to help me. And before you ask, yes I've put my Harley up for sale on Craigs List for the greater good because I know I can do without it if it means taking care of my son and myself, but no bites yet. I'm doing the best I can to hold my head up around my son, but in truth I'm extremely depressed and scared. Please, if you know of anything that may help in my emergency situation, I'm all ears. This disease has ruined me, and I'm fighting to get my life back, but the immediate situation is terrifying. Please help. And thank you for listening/reading.

Hi Shane, can the mother of your son take him for awhile while you take care of things you need to?
