I was just diagnosed with Crohn's in December. I did really well for the first month or so with eating right and following the low residue diet. But then I started feeling better, and started losing control of my diet. So I have been feeling not so great. I have been taking my medication as prescribed. But I can't stop eating, as if I were on the Prednisone again! I've always had a love/love relationship with food. I love to eat it, it loves to stick to my body. And I have heard a lot about all different diets and things, but I am not sure where to go from here. I have a co-worker who insists that if I do the Paleo diet, I will feel better. (He does not have CD or UC, and I don't have the money for organic everything.) The other thing is I want to lose weight, and I have been trying to do Weight Watchers, but when I can't really eat the healthy foods, I feel starved, or I start to get board with what I can eat. Sorry this is long, but does anyone have any advice? Or has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks for putting up with a newbie!

Hello! I don't really know very much about diets and such that people with Crohn's follow, but I am going to move this thread to the diet section, I think you will get some great responses there

Hi Bethlynn85, welcome to the sight. Hope you find success with a diet for your condition.

The 3 most popular diets IBD suffers try are paleo as your co-worker mentions, SCD, and GAPs. Of the 3 the SCD seems to be the one most followed. Being on a budget, I can say it isn't a terribly expensive diet to try. A few college students are following along.

You can learn details about the diet at this sight:

Good luck!
