Hello, I am 13 years old. I have had symptoms since the age of 7 but took 3 years to diagnose. I am currently on Methotrexate and the doctors say I am in remission but I am still having problems, i.e diarrheah, Stomachache, Tired, Weak, Sick. I am also on medications for arthritis, depression and some others. Can anyone help me, I don't inow what to do and I want my life back.

There are different types of remission. Did the docs determine remission by colonoscopy with biopsy? If both those were good then that would be endoscopic and histological remission which leads to the ultimate goal of mucosal healing.

There is also clinical remission which is when the inflammatory markers on lab tests come back normal or your symptoms fall below a certain level. This isn't true remission and docs should always aim for deep stable remission with mucosal healing.

I would talk to the doc about the symptoms you are experiencing and maybe ask for further testing.

Also methotrexate can have the side effects of wrak, tired sick feeling so maybe that is playing a role. Fatigue can be a sign of vitamin deficiencies so some blood work to see where your vitamin levels, b12, d, magnesium stand
