Increase of Aza dosage = more blood tests?

Hi all,
I had a colonoscopy today and before I left the doc told me to increase my Aza dosage from 100 mg to 150 mg daily. I forgot to ask about blood tests. I currently have bloods done for it every 3 months. Does anyone know if you have to go back to blood tests every 2 weeks when you increase dosage? Thanks!

Any increase in dose you should go back to more frequent blood tests.

I was told by my GI that's it doesn't matter the dosage it's just the initial few doses that have to be watched carefully.

So if you've been on 100mg for years and you go up to 1000mg(which you wouldn't) your blood tests would stay the same.

For example me. I was on 125mg for around 6 months getting blood test monthly and I got boosted up to 200 mg and I continued with my monthly blood tests.
