Inflammation all over my body

Hello Friends,
I've been on the long road to diagnosis for over a year now... and my drs are finally treating me for crohns. i just started pred in may, and then i added methotrexate and now my dr wants me to start pentasa.

i'm trying to work and am sick almost every day.. with a variety of symptoms that are making me insane. i'm having a difficult time emotionally, though i know others are much worse off!

even when my guts are feeling ok, i've got sores that migrate around my arms and legs, painful sores in my mouth/gums, pain in many of my joints, red and swollen eyes, inflammed and removed gallbladder, intense pain in the upper portion of my spine, all over fatigue, etc. it's like the inflammation is eating me up sometimes. does anyone else have experience with this roaming, constant inflammation? ever had a dr talk to you about it? if it isn't crohns, what else could it be?

yeah i have had inflammation in many places as well. eyes, nose, mouth/lip sores, joints, skin, and esophagus and lg intestine. in the process of trying to figure out if my back pain is crohns related inflammation as well.

weve never really talked about the issue as a whole, just kind of addressed each issue as it came along. i was lucky that not all of it occured at the same time, it was staggered and random when something would flare up.

i had a temp ileo done in april of last year, hoping to calm down my colon which is the most affected part of me. it has helped a little but i still have these extra-intestinal symptoms.
docs think that if i have a full proctocolectomy then everything else will calm down. like the bad mass of inflammation in my colon is kind of causing all the other stuff? i dont think they even know...just guessing lol.

have you gone to a dermatologist? get to one. make sure you go to a GOOD one who has seen many types of conditions. if it is truly inflammation then steroid injections in the area should help them go away. and potentially a steroid cream of some kind? just kinda thinking.

the eyes, see an eye doc and steroid drops should clear that up. ive had similar but not exactly the same eye issues before and these drops fix it in like 2 days.

the other sutff though, dunno what to tell you =/ i dont know what you can do besides just treat the individual probelms as best as possible and try to get the crohns under control.

i had a long road to diagnosis as well, sorry to hear you're in the same boat i was. i hope the meds work out for you. i also have constant pain in most of my joints and my spine and i get sores in my mouth every once in a while and blood tests show that i always have some kind of inflammation even when my guts feel ok. im currently seeing a rheumatologist to see if its from the crohns or its something else, so far it looks like its from the crohns...and the more stories i read like yours the more im convinced all my problems are related to crohns. thanks for sharing. good luck!

i have inflamation all over my body,my gallbladder aches,my knees,my back,my intestines my eyes,generally i feel ill all over just like you,it eats me away.
