Well the "healthy" child that I worry about has a new dx. Just thought I'd share so we've confirmed by second scope/biopsy that Hunter has eosinophilic esophagitis. Often referred to as EoE. Heres a website if youre interested and worth checking if you get to worrying about "healthy" siblings who have ever been brushed off with pain attributed to heartburn, only want to dink their meals instead of eat (hard to swallow) or complain that food is "stuck"

Now the poor GI has endure me for two kids.

My husband says, "what's with our kids and the inflammation?????". THAT, honey, is the million dollar question.

Sorry to hear about Hunter, at least now they can start treating him. I had never heard of EoE before, so couldn't give any advice, just wanted to send my best!

So sorry to hear, but good to be able to take some action. I HATE inflammation! Seems to be the bane of this century. <hugs>

:( Sorry about that Julie but awfully glad you have a dx and can begin treating him. He is lucky to have a mom like you!

Thanks y'all. It is not the end of the world but no ones kids need "another thing". Hopefully he'll respond quickly to the Flovent.

Julie

I have a form of heartburn which appear to be caused by Milk. I feel for Hunter as mine is really uncomfortable and at times painful.

Hopefully the treatment will work quickly.

So sorry about Hunter's dx, but I know it is good to have an answer and a direction to go with treatment. I will keep my fingers crossed that you find a specific cause and can reduce his exposure. Hope he feels better soon!

I feel you frustration re the 'healthy child'. I am on this forum now with my 'healthy child'. We were so focused on our ASD son that somehow we missed the fact our baby was so ill! In fact just a few weeks ago we were praising ourselves on how super healthy she was going to be on her super probiotic diet ! Turns out she is probably more serious gut wise than him !

Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about Hunter's dx :( I hope you're able to find his triggers/allergies asap and find them 'relatively' easy to eliminate! Good luck! :ghug:

Whoa, thanks for the update J!

I'm so sorry to hear that Hunter has Eosinophilic Oesophagitis. I so wish your instinct wasn't so spot on! But you just knew something wasn't right ay?

Sending loads and loads and loads of love, luck and well wishes that Hunter responds to the treatment and is soon feeling on top of the world again!

Onwards and Upwards!
Dusty. xxxxxxxx

Ugh...I am so sorry to hear the news...but knowing you'll be sure he gets the care he needs. My GI has told me he doesn't mind us PITA moms because our kids are truly sick and that we are only trying to advocate for them. I've quit apologizing, except in jest ;) Hoping things go smoothly with his tx!
