So what is the chances that my ileum inflammation was caused by my prep? I don't see my gastro again until November. I went to my reg doc's office yesterday to see if they could access the results. I didn't see my usual doc I saw someone who was filling in and he looked and said there was inflammation in the terminal ileum, but that it was probably caused by my prep. If it was caused by my prep, how come it still hurts 2 months later? He just looked at me like I was crazy and it was all in my head. I did the CoLyte prep. Been 15 months of being sick. I am just really getting fed up with all this waiting. Any answers would be appreciated! Thx :D

I suggest talking to your reg Doc and not the guy who was filling in. Maybe the guy filling in didn't understand your medical history. I'd think, if you've been sick for months, it wouldn't be just related to the prep. Inflammation in the terminal ilieum is not something to just skim over.

In the US, you can also get a copy of your own medical records. You can call the GI's office and tell them you want full records sent to you. Usually some paperwork is involved, but they much send them by law.

You should still talk them over with your doctor. Ideally you primary care doctor should get everything sent to them. I've had trouble getting specialists to do that, so I often get a copy and take it to the primary care doctor.

I also was told I have mild active ilietitus, that was months ago and I am finally doing a follow up on Tuesday. At the time of the colonoscopy the doctor did not seem to think it was a cause for concern. That seemed odd to me. My symptoms still persist.

That is the big thing for me. The symptoms just won't go away :( They just seem to be getting worse

I know in my case I sometimes stress out over my health problems which only makes them worse. As hard as it is, I seem to feel better when I just ignore them. In my case things aren't usually too severe, but definitely are impacting my quality of life.

Dwelling on it less seems to help me feel better. Often this means getting lost in a good book or video game.

Certainly not as helpful as an actual solution, but it helps make all the waiting bearable.

Thanks Imageek. I wish I could just ignore it :( I had to quit my job and deal with pain that often makes my life hell. I have been fighting and waiting for some kind of answer for the last 15 months. The list of foods I can digest continues to dwindle. Can't help but dwell :(
