Inflammation

Hi all, I was just dx with crohn's and the Dr. told me I was having coilitis, which was causing the freq bms. They gave me asacol 3x/day. I have only been on this less than a week and was wondering about how long it takes to build up in your system and start having effect on the inflammation and freq. bms?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

HI Mike, How much did they put you on for the medication? I am on asacol i take 2400mg of the medication. It will probably take a few weeks for the medication to kick in but if you at a low dose. You might want to bump it up a bit. and if you are still having diarrhea i would stick to a low residue diet and bland foods for a while.best wishes.

Hey Scott, I'm taking the same amount 2400mg asacol,being new to this I just don't know about the meds involved.
