Hi
My son has severe UC and has had 2 infliximab infusions so far. The gap between the second and third is meant to be 4 weeks but the way his appointments work the gap will be 4 1/2 weeks. So he has a week to wait til the next infusion. He has just started going to the loo more, it's been about 3 times per day so far and now it's up to 5 so he feels like it's getting weaker. Should we ask for the infusion sooner or is this normal? He's really frightened he's going to land up in hospital again if we do nothing. Advice please anyone? Many thanks

Although you see an approvemnt normally with the st or 2nd infusion, it can take 4-5 until everything gets back to normal. I'd wait until hes finished the loading doses and on to the routine 8wk (or so) until seeing how it is.

I felt exactly the same (1st 2 doses great, 3rd not so great for me) but it all seems to be good now, although i do have to be careful what i eat and drink, and i still get off days although they are no where near as bad as they used to be

After a few months of taking infliximab, I find that I start struggling after about 4 or 5 weeks, and have to take prednisolone to get me through until the next infusion. I have felt though, the longer I've been on it, the more "immune" I'm getting to it. Have been on it for 14 months now.

Not on anything else, as I've not reacted well to everything else.
