Went for my consultation with my IBD nurse today and the choice is entirely mine to decide. I'm leaning towards Infliximab as it has been used longer for treatment of crohn's and because the thought of injecting myself does make my stomach turn a little. But then not having to go into hospital every 8 weeks sounds good also. Its a hard one. All I can say is I'm so glad hubby took the day off work to come with me. I'm on antibiotics just now for a kidney infection (day 7 into the 10 day course) and pain is still very much so there. He decided to tell her about it which I wasn't going to do as I didn't feel it was crohn's related but the nurse went and got a doc straight away who examined me and took blood and urine samples and also arranged a CT and ultrasound for me as he's not convinced it it a kidney infection. They were also surprised i've been give or take on 40mg of steroids for 3 months now (I've just moved hospitals and consultants) Does anyone else stay on steroids this long or is it just me?!?

Hey there. Sorry to hear you are having these problems :-( I too was on steroids for a while, 6 months actually. Started low for a couple of months, then had to up after tests showed inflammation more severe than first thought. Then slow tapering after going on Aza.
It's good that hubby mentioned your symptoms. They might be due to a bowel to bladder fistula and that's probably what the tests are checking. If it is a fistula then Remicade is often prescribed if they think trying to heal it with meds is an option.
When are you having the scans?

I've decided I'm gonna go for Remicade. I'm so fed up of pred now I'm also on 150mg of Aza too. I really hope its not a fistula :S The doctor just ordered the scan that day so I need to wait on a letter but he said it shouldn't be long before I hear from them.
