Hello,

Didn't know if this was the best place to post this...

Had a blood test last week as I've just started Aza and was told my iron levels are low (think they said it was 7) so I've just started taking iron tablets. Does anyone know how long they take to work? I'm so tired of being so tired! and I seem to get dizzy quite often to :-(

Also I keep getting these hot flushes recently...my face goes BRIGHT red and really hot and then I feel a bit 'funny', this keeps happeneing at work and it is really embarassing! Have to keep sticking my face out the office window to cool down or last time I used a colleagues coke can as a cool down.
Has anyone else had this as a side effect to any meds at all? Im on pred, Aza and Pentasa at the moment.

Thank you!

Pred can do it for sure. I've never had flushes due to low iron/hb though.

Is your hb low or just your iron levels?
If your hb(red blood cells...sort of) is ok then your iron levels will rise more quickly than if the iron is used up to increase your red blood cells first.

Hi Littlemish,

thanks for your reply :)

I don't think the flushes are related to the iron levels, was just a separate question, guess it must be the pred then!

my ibd nurse just said my iron levels are low..she never mentioned the hb at all.

Thanks again
