Iron tests?

Hi everyone,

My doctor is doing routine blood tests and I'd testing my iron levels. I thought I read on here that the basic iron level test is not enough, there is a more detailed test that needs to be done. Anyone know anything about this? What it's called? I just want to make sure I'm getting the right test done.

Does anyone take iron supplements?

I believe it called either iron studies or iron panel. Ferritin alone is not enough.

My daughter is on and off iron supplements.
