Hi! I'm new here, and I don't know anyone, and I've also always wondered; Is there ANYBODY out there that has crohn's, and is my age? (btw, I'm 11) :sign0144:
My story: I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease last year after going through nine months of pain. It started out with chest pain and ulcers in my mouth(the chest pain actually turned out to be an ulcer) that lasted about a month, (I found the right antacid) then for some weird reason my stomach would hurt EVERY SINGLE MORNING, then I lost my appetite, along with 26 pounds, so the doc finally diagnosed me with Crohn's after tons of labwork, a colonoscopy, and an EGD. Now I'm on Remicade, (infliximab) and doing fine!
So, if you feel like someone is stabbing you in the chest every time you swallow, have lots of ulcers in your mouth, if you're losing your appetite and losing weight, I strongly suggest Remicade. (unless your doctor doesn't want you on that) and try to avoid: spicy foods, anything that has tomatoes in it, and anything that usually gives you an upset stomach. oo:
Oh, I forgot to mention, you get Remicade through an IV. The frequency at which you get it varys. I get it every 8 weeks, and I"m actually getting it next Thursday!
