I've started to think that some time ago. From all the readings, all the experiences and observations; I've started to believe there is a strong correlation between a healthy gut flora (and non inflamed digestive system) and happines, peacefulness. We know that people with crohn's and colitis have dysbiosis and inflamed, leaky gut. What do you think?

I would certainly feel happier and more peaceful (less anxious) if my intestines did not remind me so rudely of their presence every day.
I do take probiotics but I have no idea if they are really helping.

Changes or abnormalities in gut flora are also associated with allergic diseases such as asthma and eczema, so their effect is not just limited to the intestinal tract. Quite amazing really, and so poorly understood at the moment. Not surprising really, considering how inaccessible the intestines are. Blood work just does not represent what is going on locally in the gut.

Do you take pre- or probiotics?

I have been taking probiotics and I have to say that I think they work. My stomach seems more "settled"
