Hi. I'm new to this so I hope I'm doing this correctly. My name is Margarita, I'm 28 years old and I've had CD for 11 years now. I had my entire large intestine removed in 2009 and had an ostomy for nearly 4 years. I was reversed 2 years ago and have yet to find a "solution" to my diet. I've typically stuck to pastas, rice, potatoes, bananas, ect. Basically, anything binding. I've been curious about juicing for some time now but I've never actually taken any steps into trying it out because I'm afraid the consistency will not be binding enough. Because I don't have my large intestine, it's difficult for me to absorb any of the liquids in my diet and I, therefore, end up with diarrhea. Has anyone else had this same surgery and have found a diet that will work for them? And are there any suggestions for juicing? I'm very interested in trying it out because of the nutritional benefits. Thank you for taking the time to read. (I'd like to introduce myself and my story better but I'm at work). :shifty-t:

I think juicing is a great way to get those nutrients without the fiber that causes us problems. You still may get gas and bloating though but likely nothing dangerous.

I am having the same dilemma, have a colon but it's diverted due to my ostomy and I'm not sure if juice will make my already high diarrhea much worse.

Even though you were reversed you may find our stoma forum helpful http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=46
as well as our juicing section http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=284
