My daughter has braces and every time they get tightened the orthodontist recommends chewing gum for a few days to help with the discomfort. I think it actually reduces the swelling of the gums.
Obviously sugar-sweetened gum is not allowed, and the sugar-free ones sweetened with xylitol, aspartame, and Splenda are prohibited also.
Saccharin and cyclamate are SCD legal. Is there any gum sweetened only with them? I haven't found any.
We are traveling to England next month, so perhaps there is something there we could use upon occasion?
